This week marks the three-quarters point of our school year. Hopefully, parents, friends, and students of Room 131 are seeing the benefit of all the lessons we've learned throughout the year. I know that I am starting to see the application of all that we have learned. I am very proud of our students.
This week is very busy and students need to be on top of their game to make sure that everything goes as smooth as possible! I will try to make a list of important events, but please check out our calendar to make sure that I have everything written down!
1. Monday is our music program. The students have put a lot of work into this and I hope that everyone is able to attend. Many notes have been sent home and I hope all students arrive at the start of the individual performances at 6PM. The music will start at 6:40.
2. We are lucky enough to have the authors of the book B is for Battle Cry coming to Waubesa this week. We will read the book in class on Monday. I sent home an order form on Friday for anyone that is interested in buying a book and having the authors sign it. Here is a link to the website of one of the authors.
3. The South Unit Test is going to be happening this week. Please have students review the study guide and essay questions for this test. I focused our lessons on BIG IDEAS and students have many notes to study from. Monday I will load up a photocopy of the notes for our class to out. The review and essay questions are loaded below and on the printable practice page.
4. Moon Projects are due tomorrow, hopefully students have already got outside and drawn up the moon four times. The timing of this project really worked out for us and I am pleased with the amount the moon was out, and our wonderful full-super moon during the project.
5. The Youth Center will be coming to talk with our students this week. Please stay tuned for updates on this wonderful community opportunity for our students. Here is a link their website. Note: April 1st is 5th grade day at the Youth Center. Check it out!
I am sure I forgot many things, so please stay tuned to the Daily Blogs to make sure that all messages are received! I hope that we can make this week great!
