It's hard to imagine the chapters that we are closing here this week. Not only are the students closing the book on their time in 5th grade and Waubesa; I am wrapping up my stint here at McFarland. My time with the kids here in McFarland has been truly blessed, and I look forward to keeping in touch with everyone as we all continue to learn and find out just where we are supposed to be.
At the end of this blog, I will be putting my contact information for the everyone, as you may want to get in touch with me in the future with concerns, questions, or even exciting news. I hope that everyone knows that even though I may be moving on, my time as your teach is never up. If you need anything, please get in touch.
Our classroom website will remain updated, however, you may notice much of the site written in German. If you needs any translation or help with this, please get in touch. As of June 10th, the new website password will be learn. I welcome you to keep in close contact with your new 5th grade friends.
Now, this school year is not over, so I MUST give just a few bits of information for this week. Tuesday we are having a Math test. It is very important that we do not give up on our studies earlier and have this test negatively impact our grades! Wednesday, the students of Room 131 will be walking to the swimming pool for a bit of open swim with Ms. Lawler's class. I have attached the note about swimming to the end of this blog.
Also, Monday students will start working on their egg drop shuttles, and we are in need of a few supplies for this fantastic event. We need a few empty bottles that are 24oz or less, Popsicle sticks, and toothpicks. Many students mentioned Friday that they would be able to bring these in, but I wanted to give them a BIG reminder. I have attached the Egg Drop document to the end of this blog, if you are interested in learning more about the fantastic event.
On Wednesday, we will be cleaning out our desks. It would be helpful if students bring an extra bag or backpack so they can carry home any extra things they may want to bring with them.
I have learned so much this school year, and I hope the students can take a little something positive from this year. I thank everyone for the support that has been given to both the students and me as we have moved through this fantastic year. We have grown close as a family and it will be tough to see everyone go.
So let's make this last week great, or not. The choice is ours!
