Last week the students of Room 131 journaled about finishing strong. With less than 30 days left in our school year, this could not be a more appropriate time to help our students with a final push. Finishing strong is a quality life skill that all students need to have and now is as good as time as any to practice!
The fifth grade teachers are still looking for some parent, or group of parents to help organize our fifth grade picnic. The picnic is creeping up on us, so if you are available to help out, please make sure you let me know and I will get you more details ASAP.
This week is the district writing assessment for 5th graders. It is a chance for our students to show off their amazing writing skills in a 5 paragraph essay. Monday night, a brainstorming worksheet will be going home with the class to help them get their thoughts together. Please sit with your child and help them come up with many ideas to make their writing as interesting and easy as possible. The brainstorming sheets are due on Tuesday.
Mark your calendars for June 5th. Madison's Ride the Drive biking event is coming to promote biking in the city. I am going to discuss on Monday with the students if we are interested in volunteering for the event, or just having a Sunday bike ride. Some of you may know that one of my biggest hobbies is biking, and I thought it would be a great way for our class to close out the school year! More information on the event can be found at this website.
There is always a lot more to see on our website! Please take a few minutes to check out all we have to offer on our web page! Also, enjoy the song we will be learning this week to go along with our new science unit!
Make this week great, or not. The choice is yours!
