This weekend is the first of the new year that I am able to sit outside and comfortably write our weekly blog! With that in mind, I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that Spring weather is constantly changing. I want to make sure that all parents are taking the time to closely watch the weather and the clothing their children are choosing to wear. While I believe in the natural consequences of wearing shorts when it is too cold, it is very hard for me to have students who are uncomfortable in their learning environment. Please help us make sure everyone is prepared to learn by making sure our clothing selection is not going to hold us back!
Monday, our Sothern Research projects are officially due! Students who handed in their papers to me last week will have many comments on their papers about how I would like to see them changed. During Computer class with Mrs. Hauser, students will have the chance to make the necessary changes and print out TWO final copies (One for me, and one for them). I am very excited to have this big project completed!
With the end of the research and paper portion of the project, we move forward into the presentation portion, which is a favorite of many students. I will load information concerning the best method for organizing these presentations at the end of this blog. Students will be required to present their information for three to five minutes and have some display to accompany them during these presentations. A note to all parents is that these presentations will be done mostly outside of class. If you look at our Weekly Lesson Calendar you will note days that I have schedule to work on these in class, and please note that three class periods is note nearly enough time! Presentations will being next Monday, April 18th.
Monday is the last day to get book orders in to me. If you are interested, I have many of the orders loaded online and I have attached directions for online ordering at the end of the page.
I have many goals for the week for our class and I would like to share a few. See if you can see any of these things happening in our classroom:
1. Write a Daily Blog everyday! No matter what the time constrictions are.
2. No late work from any student. This means providing clear directions and solid lessons that allow students to succeed!
3. Students earning Bucky Bucks each day by working hard to follow our four classroom agreements.
It might be difficult to reach these goals, but if we make great choices, we will have a great week!
