Well, we made it! The final portion of the school year is finally here. At this point of the year, the pace of 5th grade really picks up. With the weather turning nice, and the activities we have in fifth grade, before we know it we will be celebrating the last day of the school year.
There are a few things to note about the week that I would like everyone to note. First off, I will be mailing home summer school referrals. These are for students whose test scores and daily work show that they need extra help over the summer to be prepared for 6th grade. I will also be mailing home a few of the progress reports that I made last week. Any parent who did not see their students' report and would like to, first ask you child to see it, if they no longer have it, email me and I will send it your way.
Also this week, we will be continuing to work on our Southern Research Projects. I know the plan was to finish before spring break, but the students needed more time. Hopefully, this week will be enough time to get it done, so we can start our presentations next week. I will be sending home a parent editing paper this week be prepared to sit with your child and look over their paper for errors.
There is a lot to be excited about in the fourth quarter, but it is important that all parents and students remain steadfast in their high expectations of student success. I will be working hard and I expect all students to do the same. Please help your child finish this school year strong by remaining focused on our goals and projects.
I have again attached our calendar for the week, and the Prezi I created about my move to Germany. Please take a moment to look them over and make sure we have everything covered!
Make this week great, or not. The choice is yours!
