Hold on tight for a crazy, crazy week! While it will be very exciting, there is so much going on that I am hoping to to be clear and brief during this blog. If you have more questions about events, and think that everyone could benefit from seeing it, please comment on the post!
First off, tomorrow (Monday) is Silent Day. Students will be asked to remain silent throughout the whole first portion of the day. In the afternoon, students will be asked the ever important question of WHY? I hope that students learn something from the experience. I have loaded reminders at the bottom of the blog. A good general rule for students, if they are wondering whether or not something will count against them, don't do it. It probably will.
Tuesday is the Olympiad. The current weather report is a bright and sunny day. I have a major request to all parents. Please put sunscreen on your child prior to sending them to school. Sunscreen is considered a medicated lotion, and we are not allowed to apply sunscreen. Students will be out enjoying the sun, and I would love them to enjoy it safely. Thanks!
Tuesday evening is the 6th Grade Orientation meeting at the middle school. 6th grade teachers have asked that we remind you that this meeting is PARENTS ONLY. Students will be visiting the middle school June 3rd and will have their own chance to ask questions and get acquainted with teachers and the building.
We have a few tests coming up this week. On Monday, students will be previewing the social studies test and allowed to take notes on the exam that they can use to study from. The test will be on Wednesday and Thursday. Also this week, we will be starting our Unit 9 Math Test on Area and Volume. A review guide will be sent home on Monday. Please help your child prepare for these exams.
Friday is the Safety Patrol Trip. Student's who miss school because of the trip, will be expected to make up any work they will be missing. It is their responsibility to come to me and get this work. Safety Patrolers with excessive missing work will be refunded and not be allowed to go.
Finally, Friday is also the Read-In. This event is a blast for everyone involved and I want to remind students to continue to make good choices and get their work in. Many students have already received their verbal warning about late work and will be not allowed to attend this wonderful event.
Keep checking out our website and daily blog. I hope to have our Celebrity Sign-In video up soon and many other fun pictures and videos from the major events of the week.
Make this week great, or not. The choice is yours!
