I know everybody has been waiting so long for these blogs to return so you could enjoy a good read each Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Thanks for your understanding while I was out working with students from the school. I would encourage everyone to get there child involved with the sports program our school has to offer. It is not a long trip to Degerloch, and their is so much to offer. Sixth Grade provides many opportunities in this program. For questions or inquiries, please check the website for a complete lists of sports and contact information.
Ok. Back to Business.
Students are well into their research projects on World Religions and this week we will continue to think about and work on making these presentations great. Tuesday morning, we will walk to the Indische Laden store just down the street in Böblingen and enjoy a learning opportunity from the store owner. Also on Tuesday, we will be discussing the steps to making presentations better by reflecting on the "7 Oops of Presentations".
In math, we will continue to look at measurement by focusing on area, perimeter and volume. We will be particularly looking at the volume of irregular shapes and where the number pi comes from. We will then take pi to help us find area and circumference of circles.
To add to all we are doing Tuesday, we will be having an extra section of sport with the Freestyle Football Dan Wood. Mr. Wood is coming to our school for the day to teach our students some soccer skills. I recommend everyone take a moment to check out his website. Students are required to bring extra sports clothes and some good shoes to play in. Link to Freestyle Football Federation Website
I believe that is all I have to catch everyone up on, make sure we are still checking the daily blog! Last week, we loaded pictures from our reading day, and a timeline for the research presentations. If we can all keep checking this, there will be no problem achieving our goals for the second part of the year.
Let's have a great week!
