Another week in after break and things are really starting to fly by! We are off to a great start on our Mesopotamia Unit and are looking deeper and deeper into the Geometry topic for math. There is a lot of important information to get to everybody and a very important note to the Dads of our classroom.
I do want to start by taking a moment to remind students (with their parents hearing) about the importance of getting their work in on time. In the first week back from break, we have already had eleven late assignments! This is not acceptable, and it is hard on the three or four students that always get their work in on time. Remember, our goal is to have seven or less in a two week period, and then the students will have a celebration at my expense! (Pies in the face or a head shave). Let's straighten this out immediately!
Frau Clarus and I have been planning our 5th grade end of the year trip. We will be traveling to Freiburg and hiking the Black Forest. The trip dates are from June 19th to the 21st. This is where the Dads come in... We have only had Moms travel with us this year on Field Trips, we were hoping that a Dad or two would be able to take a few days and travel with the class to the Black Forest. I will first open the opportunity to come to Dads, if I don't hear from any, next week I will ask all the Moms. More details to come on the trip later in the month as we make final bookings. This trip will be a major part of our final research unit - Climate Change.
On a side note about the trip, if anyone has available an Isomatte, or a small inflatable mattress we can take with us, please let Frau Clarus or I know as soon as possible. Thanks in advance!
I believe this is all for now. I have loaded all the video (expect Alison's due to technical difficulties) of the World Religions Unit on a separate page. Please take a few minutes to watch.
Have a great week!
