Next year, students will be moving on to the Middle Years and a much larger responsibility than they are used to in primary school. In the past, I have dealt with this transition gradually, and plan to do the same. Students will start to see changes regarding amount of home-learning, late work issues, and in class tests. I hope the change in these expectations will help them be prepared for what lies ahead in the Middle Years either here at BaSICS, or anywhere else in the world.
As we embark on the final weeks of our school year, we begin two new units. I have completed the write-up for our Math Unit: Geometry and Trigonometry and have included this on through this link here. I will finish a write-up for the Research Unit Mesopotamia tomorrow and include a link here when it is uploaded.
Finally, I wanted to congratulate all the students on their fine work completing their essays and presentations for the World Religions Unit. I enjoyed them all and thought each student showed significant improvement from our first presentations earlier this year. Job well done! I have been out of the country with my family for break, and will get to the essays as soon as possible.
Let's make this week great!
Mr. N.
