Please continue to read the BaSICS Newsletter, it is always loaded at the end of the blogs. This week however, I have moved it to make sure readers are clicking and taking the time to read this. This week's contains important information about the Sindelfinger Werkstadtlauf, Scholastic Bookclubs, and International May Day Festival. These are all important events that our school would like to have some community participation. My wire and I will be running in the Werkstadtlauf. Any students that participates will get a homework pass. They can chose an assignment I assign and not do it! If you have ideas or a table request, please email the PTG President Karla Marroquin.

Remember to please sign up for the Student-Led Portfolio Conferences. Thus far only two parents have made arrangements to visit next week. If you are unable to make it and need to reschedule for a later time, please do so. You may sign up through this link. For a preview of how these conferences go, please see the attached PDF.

A homework update for everyone. With the weather changing, students are more and more excited to play outside. I want to remind everyone of our homework policy. Students should plan to do about 50 minutes of homework each night. I give less than this, however it is important that students spend time reading books! Most assignments students have a week to complete. If they spend a little time each night working on these, they will stay within the 50 minutes of assigned work. However, if they wait until the last minute to do it, they will be well over the 50 minutes. Usually, I allow parents to sign-off on assignments if they are taking students over 50 minutes to complete, if students wait until the last minute to start working on these assignments, I will not accept parent sign-offs as a valid excuse. Students will be staying in from break until all work is completed. Thanks for your support on this issue.
This is all for now! Here is some information on a few things we will be doing on our trip to Freiburg in June.
